Of all the Christmas records my parents had when I was growing up, this was my favorite. For years it was unavailable, then available only on cassette. This CD is a joy to listen to and to share with my kids.
My seven-year daughter loves this CD and it is one of my favorites, as well. The songs are cleverly done--some classics and others that deserve to be classics. One of the best Christmas albums out there, I would say.
This is the best Cole Xmas collection available. It contains the original orchestrated mono version of 'The Christmas Song', plus it has a lovely rendition of the Brahms Lullaby. truly a classic album for kids from 1 to 92.
Now, thanks to Nat, I have my "theme song" that beautifully portrays HER role. Santa Claus." It is one of the few Christmas songs written about "the woman behind the man." I often portray Mrs. While I fondly remember hearing all of these songs growing up, I purchased this CD because of the song "Mrs. Children love to hear the song and often remark "I didn't know Mrs. Claus (sometimes without Mr). during Christmas and couldn't come up with an appropriate "theme song" as my introduction until I remembered hearing this song while growing up. Claus did all that." And the adult women (and sometimes men) in the group smile and nod their heads--knowing that it is the women who make Christmas "happen" in most households. Thanks, Nat, for the wonderful memories in all of these songs and for my "theme song".
As a child my mother used to play this album each holiday season. Somehow after mom died the album was lost, it is great to have this music back in my life during the holiday season.
